Questions And Answers

Q – How do I know if my business is suited to Business First?

A – Browse through this website and take a good look through the member profiles. If you see that your trade is not represented, give either Roger or Allan a call to clarify etc. We do have a small rule of one trade per member, which avoids duplication and sharing of leads. In this respect, if you were the Carpet Company, then all of the leads and associated work would go to you. Think about 30 or so members thinking of you each week plus all of their contacts!!!! Any group of people working towards a common aim needs one/two people who drives the project, gets participants together, makes sure there is an agenda for meetings, chases up agreed actions and keeps the group on track. Allan & Roger will co-ordinate this so that each member has no concerns about organisation – other than getting up in the morning. We won’t be calling you!!!!!!!

Q – Who is responsible for the club, is it a private club and who owns Business First?

A – Allan Wasley & Roger James operate Business First as a Partnership and is run as a registered business. As such, all members pay a subscription and would expect the owners of this business to be running matters efficiently and in a business like matter. This is why you will benefit from constant support and feedback, quality business leads and a room full of like minded business folk that are there to do the same as you.

Q – What are the costs – I’ve heard that some clubs have fees of hundreds of pounds to join?

A – If you are eligible to join Business First, we require a £45.00 joining fee and the first month’s subscription of £45.00 up front. Thereafter, the monthly charge is £45.00 including breakfast etc. The administration fee covers the general processing of your application but the most fantastic element of the administration fee is that you will acquire a website page all for your self. Photographs and text as you please. Ian Spencer of Clear Web Services Ltd will co-ordinate your page and Allan Wasley is available to take any photographs you may need.

Q – Do you have Guest Speakers?

A – Expert Speakers. Our speakers at meetings give short presentations on business topics such as PR, 21st century sales & marketing, IT and much more. Members comment on how useful these presentations are to their business and there may be opportunities for you to give a presentation on your area of expertise.

Q – Will you be arranging any events?

A – Business Seminars – Members ask for more in-depth coverage on some topics covered by our networking club speakers so we are offering a range of seminars. In 2010 we will be covering Networking Skills, Business Growth via the Internet and more. Raising your profile via our website will be January 2010. Cashflow and finances to follow in February 2010.

Q – What happens if I introduce a member to the club?

A – Firstly, the whole group will thank you for your efforts as we all see the benefit in more members – more leads. From the owners of the club, you will receive a member profile onto the Home Page of the website thus elevating your business to the top. This will last until the next introduced member joins.

Q – I see that a monthly newsletter is published, how am I assured that this will be updated?

A – As a privately owned club, we take on a responsibility to make things happen. By suggesting that we promise to do something should be assurance that things will be done. No-one is perfect but if you enjoy what you do, life is so much easier.

Q – Do I receive any other form of advertising?

A – We promise to construct a web page for you through Business First website as part of the administration fee. As such, we don’t promote advertising individuals but more look for editorials in the local press with pictures. This club is more about it’s members finding the work through word of mouth and contacts.

However, given the suitable opportunity all aspects of advertising are considered.

Business First as a club will be the more prominent advertised message.

Q – Do you sponsor events or any involvement in charity?

A – We believe that the sponsoring of any event or charity must be the sole decision of each member through there own businesses. We do not invite charities to our meetings, as it is difficult to please all members with one single group. However, we forward all details onto our members for there consideration through their own business.
